How long has it been since you updated your comedy monologue? Okay, how about your dramatic monologue? It’s always in the back of your mind, isn’t it? ‘I should really get a new one together…just in case I need it for an agent or manager.’ Even if they don’t ASK for it, it’s good to have because a meeting could lead to an impromptu opportunity to pull out that two-minute dramatic monologue…except you don’t have one.
Let’s change that!
In this four week cycle, we’ll develop a monologue tailored to your strengths. We’ll discover effective tactics and personalization for your character in the monologue and also create realistic emotional responses by exploring your monologues as fully interactive scenes with other actors. Once the layers of the monologue have been built, we’ll remove your scene partner and fine-tune them as standalone pieces. The class is taught by Hunter Lee Hughes (director, Guys Reading Poems).
If you’d like to shoot the monologue with professional lighting, sound and hair/make-up, please book here.
